Relay is a small, rugged box that connects the cameras and recorder you already own to CrimeSave or our monitoring center. You don't need port forwarding, an IT visit or a technician. A built-in battery keeps it running through a power cut, and LTE models switch to cellular when the internet drops.

How it works

We ship it to you. Setup takes a few minutes, and we're on the phone for the one step that needs your recorder login.

It finds your recorder and cameras on its own. We enter your recorder login with you once, over the phone.

Wait for solid green

That means we can see your cameras. We call to confirm, and you choose which cameras we see from the app.

Every unit runs the same core hardware and firmware. The Relay connects the system you already have. The Vault is also its own backup recorder, with a hard drive and PoE ports. The brand decides which service it connects to.

RELAY

If you have a recorder that works

  • Plugs into your router and finds your recorder and cameras on its own.
  • Built for up to 12 cameras, or 16 with the fan kit.
  • Buffers up to 72 hours of footage when the internet drops, then uploads it.
  • About 3 hours on its own battery.
VAULT

If you have no recorder, or need a second copy

  • Records up to 16 cameras to a surveillance hard drive, and sends them to us at the same time.
  • Four PoE+ ports power new cameras directly.
  • Can keep a second copy of your existing recorder's streams that nobody on site can tamper with.
  • The cameras on its ports keep recording on battery.

Old cameras, new tricks.

Relay gives the cameras you already own the same analytics our monitored sites get. That includes older analog systems, as long as the cameras run through a networked DVR or NVR.

Good to know
Our advanced monitoring with live talk-down and deterrence needs hardware on site that can speak or flash, such as speakers or strobes. We can add those. Analytics are only as good as the camera's view.

What it won't do

Straight answers before you sign up.

You'll get the Relay, or a Vault, with a monitoring or CrimeSave plan, either included or leased. We'll announce pricing before units ship.

It can't fix slow internet. Plan on about 1.5 Mbps of upload per camera we watch.
It needs your recorder login once. We enter it with you on the phone. It goes to the Relay over the encrypted link, and our operators never see it.
The battery keeps the Relay running, not your whole system. If the power goes out, your router, recorder and cameras stop unless they're on their own backup. The Relay stays up to tell us, and an LTE model keeps reporting.
Talk-down needs a speaker. Two-way audio works through cameras or speakers that support it. We can add them.
Some corporate networks need IT. Very locked-down networks may need to allow outbound connections on port 443.
